
St Francis of Assisi Parish, Port Glasgow was founded on 21st September 1969, with the Church being founded on the fourth Sunday of Advent, Sunday 22nd December 1974, by Rt. Rev. Stephen McGill who, at the time, was the Bishop of the Paisley Diocese to which St Francis of Assisi belongs.
