St Francis of Assisi Parish, Port Glasgow was founded on 21st September 1969, with the Church being founded on the fourth Sunday of Advent, Sunday 22nd December 1974, by Rt. Rev. Stephen McGill who, at the time, was the Bishop of the Paisley Diocese to which St Francis of Assisi belongs. 2019 marks 50 years of the parish.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATES
As announced by the Scottish Government, places of worship may reopen on Friday 26th March 2021.
The congregation will be capped at 50 and details regarding reserving a place will be released in due course. In the meantime, you can access St Francis' live stream by clicking the button at the top of the page.
The guidance for funerals is that a maximum of 20 people can attend, but wakes and post-funeral gatherings are prohibited.
For weddings, a maximum of 5 people can be present (bridal couple, celebrant, two witnesses).
